: Ninelives the Cat (USA)
Posted on Friday, October 02 @ 13:16:16 EST by dan

NLTC has been busy this year putting the finishing touches on his debut album, "Are We Dead Yet?", dropping a plethora of single and remix releases including collaborations with the likes of Rennie Pilgrem, Peo de Pitte, Beat Assassins, Rico Tubbs and Funkanomics! If that's not enough he's been busy touring the world with his Baltimore band, The DeathSet, and launching his cutting edge Grime House side project, Zap! Pow! Die! He's clearly one of the hardest working men in broken beats and that's exactly how he performs... As a DJ/MC, come catch him rocking the decks, rocking the mic, rocking the stage and probably crowd surfing all over Halo!

About: NINELIVES THE CAT

NineLives The Cat, AKA Dan Walker, is a dj/producer and emcee. Now living in Philadelphia USA after relocating from London UK NineLives has been involved in a variety of projects, toured extensively and has remained busy working on various remixes and vocal collaborations along the way.

This last year has seen NLTC exit the United Kingdom only to enter the United States with a bag of bangin originals, remixes and vocal colaborations. Some of these colabs include work with artists such as Rennie Pilgrem, Kelevra, Missill, Funkonomics and the monsterous, "Push That System" with Costello which was remixed and released by Miles Dyson/Plasmapool. Also recently a colaboration with Telle Gramz (Bathroom Sex) from Brooklyn based Ninjasonik sees the Star Wars theme reworked and will be the opening track for Telles mixtape which will be released through Mishka NYC.

Remixes include The Hell by Break The Box (big support from Plump DJs, Kickflip, Plaza De Funk and others), Surge by Stylus Rex and a compilation remix project for Brooklyns DIY Newmore Switchblades touring bands which include The DeathSet (Ninja Tune), Ninjasonik (Chief), Team Robespierre (Motherfucker), Totally Micheal (IHEARTCOMIX) and Cerbral Ballzy. A mixtape incuding these tracks has been put together by DJ Teenwolf of Ninjasonik and is set for release towards the end of the year. These remixes are also promoted online through Chief Magazine.

Recent originals include "Vicious" - remixed by Rico Tubbs, and "Funkwire" - remixed by Rob Reng and the highly anticipated "Girls" - remixed by Z-Listers and The Beat Monkeys will be one to look out for towards the end of the year. This release will be coupled with a video clip which will see this bounce hard!

Playing out NLTC has djed/emceed shows back in the UK at Cargo, Fabric, Social Breaks, Supertronix parties and the Transmusicales Festival in France with Missills live show. And since moving to the USA has played out at Happy Endings in NY for Ninjasonik and Teenwolf and at The Janghouse in Philly, formerly Spankrocks night of madness. Up coming shows in San Francisco for Evil Breaks parties among others are set for the east coast USA.

Line Up - Ninelives the Cat (USA), Mez, Billy Green, Lids, Kyle Mosely, Oxley vs. Jugs 10pm Start on this one. Cost - $10 @ the door. Proper party beats guaranteed.
